LONDON GREENS

Sketches from small journeys in the capital during 2020 and 2021

Drawn to nature since March 2020 when COVID took hold in the UK, firstly I drew plants in my back garden. Then, as the lockdown eased, I hesitantly moved to local parks and gardens. As rules changed again, slightly further afield to places in south east London. Lucky to have many green spaces in the capital, I found drawing to be the way for me to zone out from the noise of news and politics. I have collected together sketches and words from my blog and Instagram posts from the those two years to create this zine.

DRAWING TOULOUSE AND BARCELONA

In the space of four weeks in 2023, I had the opportunity to visit two cities that I had never travelled to before. I headed to Toulouse for the Annual French Urban Sketchers (USk) gathering and to Barcelona for their 10th Anniversary USk celebrations.

This zine is a collection of sketches and thoughts from both trips. I have also included some colour notes and details about the materials which I used. Coming from London, it was interesting to see the way the colour palette changed as I moved south, and as the weather became hotter and drier.
